How long does setup take?

Most wineries are fully set up in under 30 minutes. Your existing Commerce7 contacts sync automatically in the background (typically 5–20 minutes depending on database size), and the onboarding wizard walks you through everything else.

What do I need to get started?

• An active Commerce7 account
• A website where you can paste a small JavaScript snippet (works with WordPress, Squarespace, Commerce7 hosted sites, or any custom CMS)
• Admin access to your Commerce7 account for managing tags and clubs

Do I need any technical skills?

No. The setup wizard handles everything. The widget installs with a single copy-paste of a JavaScript snippet — no coding, no server configuration, and no IT department required.

How does the referral process work?

1. Your member becomes an Ambassador — They're automatically enrolled and given a unique referral code and shareable link
2. They share with friends — Via the widget on your website, a personal referral link, or QR codes you place in shipments and tasting rooms
3. A friend signs up — The friend clicks the link, sees a personalized widget, and joins your wine club
4. Both get rewarded — Once you approve the referral, gift cards are automatically created in Commerce7 for both the Ambassador and their friend

What qualifies as a successful referral?

A referral is successful when the referred friend creates a Commerce7 account and joins one of your wine clubs. You review and approve each referral before rewards are distributed, so you always have final say.

Can I set up multiple referral programs?

Yes. You can create multiple programs with different rules, reward amounts, and eligibility criteria. Programs are prioritized so each member qualifies for the most relevant one. For example, you could offer higher rewards for your top-tier club referrals and lower rewards for general membership.

Who can be an Ambassador?

Can I target churned members with my referral program?

Yes. When setting up a program, you can choose to target "Prospective + Churned" customers — those who cancelled their membership 12+ months ago — giving them an incentive to re-engage and bring in new members.

How do rewards work?

When you approve a referral, Awesome Club Referrals automatically creates virtual gift cards in Commerce7 for both the Ambassador (referrer) and the Friend (new member). These gift cards are applied to their next club shipment or order.

What reward amounts can I offer?

You can choose from preset amounts ($10, $25, $50) or set a custom amount. Ambassador and Friend reward amounts can be different — for example, $50 for the Ambassador and $25 for the new member.

Are gift cards created automatically?

Yes. Once you approve a referral, gift cards are generated instantly in Commerce7. The member's club tender types are also automatically updated to accept gift cards alongside their existing payment method.

Is there a limit to how many referrals a member can make?

No. Ambassadors can refer as many friends as they want. Each approved referral generates a reward.

Do I have to approve every referral manually?

Currently, referrals require manual approval to ensure quality control. This lets you verify that each referral is legitimate before issuing rewards. We're actively developing auto-approval options with configurable rules.

What can I customize?

• Logo — Upload your winery logo for all emails and widgets
• Colors — Choose primary button color and background colors to match your brand
• Widget text — Customize titles, subtitles, and button text for both Ambassador and Friend widgets

Yes. The platform tracks email opens and link clicks in real time. You can see overall open rates, click rates, and engagement trends on your dashboard. Typical open rates for referral emails are 50–60%+ — well above industry averages.

Are emails sent from my domain?

Emails are sent on behalf of your winery with your branding (logo, colors, copy). Contact support if you need custom sender domain configuration.

What metrics can I track?

• Ambassador count — How many members are active in your program

What happens if I uninstall?

If you uninstall from Commerce7, your account is deactivated and your data is deleted. You can cancel anytime with no fees or contracts.

Yes. There's an option to fully reset your referral program, which clears all members, codes, referrals, and associated Commerce7 coupons. This is a permanent action and is available upon request.

What customer data do you store?

We store the minimum needed to run your referral program: member names, email addresses, Commerce7 IDs, club memberships, and referral activity. All data is scoped to your account and not shared with other wineries. Customer deletion requests from Commerce7 are processed automatically.

Is my data secure?

Yes. All data is transmitted over HTTPS, stored in encrypted databases, and isolated per team. We follow industry-standard security practices and never share your customer data with third parties.
